SMH Spring Warm Up Tournament—Kinkaid Lake

 

             The Shawnee Muskie Hunters Spring Warm Up Tournament was once again a great success.  This spring we had 43 teams participate “one of the best tournaments the club has ever put together” shared by many members.  Cold, windy weather greeted tournament anglers on the opening day.  Fishing proved to be difficult with only two fish registered.   The team of Brandyn Shepherd and Brian Malack from Chicago Land register the first fish of the day with a 38.5 incher.  The second fish of the day was caught by the veteran team of Dane Garrett of O’Fallon Mo. and Tom Kelley of Dalton GA., with a hog at 46 inches.

            

             Day two greeted anglers with warmer weather, calmer seas, and most importantly, a few more active fish to be had.  A total of 10 fish were boated.  Brandyn Shepherd and Brian Malack proved their metal as the only team able to double up for the weekend. 

            

             The Shawnee Muskie Hunters would like to thank everyone for the participation and volunteer of time to make this event the best in the Midwest. We look forward to meeting all of you at one of our upcoming events this season.

New for this spring was our $125 Raffle winners David Clark and Todd Russell. Great to see any fish can keep you in the running for a nice cash prize.
